I have a V PA head I use to play guitar. Its rated @ 130 rms. The number on the back is 200-0452-00. What is this amp and its specs. Theres 4 ch w/ 2 inputs each plus a single aux input in front. Theres 3 outs on back with 1 of them labeled line out. Whats the line out for? What ohm cab do I use into which out for highest output? My 2x12 is 8 ohm-should I use a pigtail into both to make it 4 ohm to reach 130 rms? Are the inputs in front separate hi/lo? Whats the total wattage? Any info on the amp appreciated. Thanks

Hello and welcome to the place!
Your PA mixer is rate for its full 130 watts of clean RMS power into a 4 ohm speaker load, when as you are... running the head into at 8 ohm speaker load the wattage will drop off to some 78 to 82 watts of clean power.
Running a pig tail speaker feed set up will not get you any more wattage from the unit.
The 1/4" jack an marked Line Out taps the mixers audio signal off before the output stage.
This signal can be used to feed into a recorder, or a power amp,you can even feed that signal into another guitar amp but it will be veryd hot and likly need to be padded down some.
I do not know if both inputs for each channel provide the same level of gain, but you can prove that out quite easy, what I do know about those inputs is that they do not provide a tonal change as on earlyer model Kustom guitar amps.

Thanx 4 the quick response. OK if i wanna use both outs, should both be 4 ohm or 8ohm? Both outs @ 8 makes the total impedance 4 right? Or are the outs independant where both should be 4ohm? What if one was 4 and the other 8 what would rms be? Thanks for your patience with me. Im just confused bout how to properly use both outs. Thanks again.

Welcome to the site!

You want to use 4 ohm total load so you are correct with using two 8ohm speakers into the one output jack. you need a Y cable to make this work if there is not two true outputs. As stated above, one is just a line out to run to a recorder and not to a speaker. If one speaker is 4ohm and one is 8ohm it will put you under the 4ohm total load and you are taking your own chances with over heating and burning up the head. It will put you at 2.66 ohm total load and the 4ohm speaker will be twice as loud as the 8 ohm speaker.

Your Kustom V PA amp as stated is 130 watts RMS into a total load of 4 ohms. The amp has two parallel wired speaker output jacks, so if you had two 8 ohm speaker cabinets plugged into the PA, you would have your 4 ohm total load. You mentioned you have a 2x12 guitar cab that is 8 ohms. I'd guess your cabinet has two 16 ohm speakers wired in parallel for the 8 ohm total impedance of the cabinet. Simply re wiring the cab so that each speaker has it's own output jack and using two speaker cables from the two speaker output jacks on the PA will still get you a 8 ohm total load. Unless you are really needing to crank the amp to maximum volume, I'd just use the single 2x12 8 ohm cabinet. If you still can't be heard, I'd toss a mic in front of the cab and let the main PA fill in the room.

Thanks guys I just been really bothered by not knowin how to treat this amp. Id hate to tear it up. It sounds great till I crank it then it gets a little mushy. Probly more to do with my cab. Im gonna call the Eminence speaker tech line tomorrow and see if the speakers are not for guitar. All I know so far is theyre 8 ohm from 1989. Thanks for the help. This site rocks

FInd out from the tech and then go to Parts Express on-line and get your price and order from them. They are about the most reasonable you will find. I have bought 15's from them for subs and they were a steal and I love Eminence over Celestion. I have a bunch of old ones from the early 80's in two 4 x 12 cabs and I have a pair in a Kustom K150 combo and they are wonderful. The best used ones that I find are from old organs, how much do most home organs really get played once the newness wears off? not much. After the new ones break in they are magical as well for guitar for sure.
