On the topic of Kasino concert heads, I own a "blueface" 125 watt Concert (CON-L.) I'm a little confused about it? It has 2 channels. I'm guessing it's a combination guitar/bass head?
Channel one has: (jack),drive, volume, bass, middle, treble, speed, depth, reverb. Channel 2 has only: (jack) volume, bass, middle, treble

I checked ohms via the speaker out port using a cable and multimeter. It read in neighborhood of 10 ohms. I'm ASSUMING it's 16 ohm? (trying to match it correctly with a cab.) All help appreciated.
thamks K.M.

Usually the -L stands for Lead, as in guitar head. -B for bass.

Are you saying that you are reading the resistance across a cable plugged into the amp's speaker output jack?

The Concert L two channel amp was designed for guitar, but can be used for other applications, (Bass, Keys, PA)
The amp section is 125 watts RMS into a 4 ohm load. The power amp is the same amp used in the K250 Kustom series.

Thanks Pleat, that is good info and makes perfect sense. It's a great old head...and gives the guitar a unique sound from my other amp.
I will run the bass thru it now and see how it sounds. KM

I have always wondered about his set up, and since in all these years I have never seen in person a a Fender fitted from the factory with JBL drivers, I have cause to wonder if they wired them right?
What I mean by this is that all JBL speakers are wired backwards, that is what is normally the + terminal on every other brand speaker on the face of the planet! is the - on a JBL,
If Fender did not take this into account when loading a JBL into a amp, then it's out of phase and could be yet another reason why he faced his amps backwards, (ie) to get the amp too play in phase.
This just a fact based guess on my part, so tell me I'am nuts?

I've only seen two Fender Super reverbs with a stock Fender JBL D130F speaker installed. One recently in a pawn shop near me.
JBL does mark their terminals so a positive voltage moves the cone inward, rather than other brands where the cone moves outwards.
Fender Twins with two 12' JBL speakers came wired as positive wire from the amp to the positive terminal of the speaker. As long as both speakers are wired + to + they would be in phase with themselves.

I read that in the early years, Fender Showmans and dual showmans were blowing up the JBL 15" speakers.
No concrete proof, but I wonder if JBL flipped the terminals so as to have the cone move inward on the initial attack so as not to drive the voice coil out of the voice coil gap. I'd think having the cone move inward, the cone would have a more controlled stiffer movement.

Just my 2 cents on why JBL speakers are opposite other brands on what they consider the positive terminal.

I read the same thing recently as well Don. I was going to tell you that the next time we talked...lol! Great minds...kind of scarrrreeeeyyyyyy! I never thought of it, but I could always call Bob and ask him, he would know for sure.

I do know they sound darn good hooked up the correct way in a Kustom though!
