I will take the bait! My guess is that if there is danger of something falling on the speaker grill you would want it front down. The only disadvantage I see is that any rubbing or chafing from the van floor will show on the most visible part of the cabinet if you do not have or use a cover. My Kustoms usually share trailer or van space with so much other gear.....they go in any way they can....even upside down it it will use the space more efficently! If you use them....they will get cuts, scrapes, torn spots, dirty grills, smoke and beer joint smells, and the casters and handles will eventually fail.BC

I had heard there was an issue of the speaker possibly pulling from the cone? Face down seems smart, since the speaker is mounted to the front, the cone would push down on the speaker, rather than pulling apart. I usually carry it upright in the van. It sure gets used, it's my #1 gigging amp. Has it's share of scrapes, tears and even a cigerette burn.
Thanks

If you are talking about what I posted about cone sag, do not worry about it with a 12 inch driver as it mostly effects 15s and 18 inchers.
If you 12 incher gets cone sag and in turn a voice coil rub its surround and support spider where well worn anyway.
