I thought Id open up a topic on pricing Kustom gear. I know before my time of collection (before 1999) there were people buying and selling then. My first run in with Kustom gear was in 1999, I bought a Kustom 4x10 Ross cabinet (black). I bought it from Chip Coleman. A lot of you know Chip also. He runs the Coleman music store in China Grove NC http://www.colemanmusic.com/ I talked to him about kustom gear and he sold me on this cabinet. I think I paid $400 for it and then paid $60 to have it shipped. Man shipping was a hell of a lot cheaper then! So that was my first buy. I bought a few other rigs from him prices from $450-$500 B-1 Rigs. I bought kustoms off of ebay also. I bought a Altec 421 2x15 cab for $250.00 (Black). For the most part I didnt have any color until the Craig's List things got popular. By this time the market was a lot less expensive and things were going cheap. I bought some stuff that 15 years ago would have gone for way more. I landed a Red 200B1 2x15 CTS rig in ok condition for $200. A damn near Mint Silver K200B4 3x12 altec rig for $275 and a few others that ran in that price range. I have paid up for some though Like my 200A4 with 2x15 Altec cabinet charcoal, dished $950 for that one. So what about you guys? What have you seen in buying and selling trends?

Way back in 1969, I bought my first Kustom. It was a K200-B5 PA with 2 4x12 cabinets in Cascade. I had borrowed a black K100-1 with Jensens from a friend of mine back in high school. This was my first exposure to tuck and roll. I eventually sold and bought and sold a few cabinets but got out for quite a few years and didn't play. Then one day my son found the ONLY remaining piece of Kustom gear I had, a Cascade K200-B1. The case was from my original B5 but with B1 guts. From that point I was hooked again. Most of the pieces are in the $350 to $400 range.

For example;
2 Cascade 3x15 Siren cabinets from Atlanta, $400
2 Red Ross no port 3x15 Siren PA cabinets, $400
K100-2 Cascade 2x12 Jensen amp, $400
K100-1 Charcoal 2x12 CTS, $300
K25 Silver 1x12 Jensen, $275
K200-A4 with 2 D130F 2x15 cabinets, $750
and others.

I have K100's in Cascade, Silver, Blue, Charcoal, Gold 1x15, and Red 1x15. In the case of the Red K100, I paid, hold on to your hats, $1200 for that one on Ebay. Bidding war. I really wanted the red one and you never see red. Not exactly true but very seldom.
