My early (1967 I believe) 2x15 cab has ports in the baffle. Is it supposed to have tubes in the ports? It does not at the moment.

The early K200A series cabinets have the port holes and the alumnium port tubes were a 20.00 upcharge in beginning. Kustom eventually made the port tubes standard at no extra charge.

The tubes are 4 inches long from the back of the flange.

Thanks, I've been wanting to see what kind of difference it would make.

You should notice a little deeper bass sound with the ports in place.

If it is a Frankie cabinet it has ports in the baffle, but no tubes.

Yes, more bass at volume levels where you are moving enough air!
