I have a 200B-4 with a white noise hiss problem, where does this come from, its not in the preamp section, possibly in the power amp transistors? anyone have a schematic they can send me?

Is it different than the normal Kustom hiss?

Did you try cleaning the connectors on the boards? I had this work on one of mine. Is this on the new beauty?

PM your email address to me and I'll get the schematics to you.

As for your hiss, There are no connectors in a K200B head. The Molex connectors didn't start until the Metal front amps.

Why do you think that it's not in the preamp? I've fixed a lot of Kustom heads. Some were hissier than others. Unfortunately I have found that there as many reasons for the hiss as there are parts in the amp. On some heads it's transistor related, on others it's resistor or capacitor related, you just never know. My general rule of thumb is that transistors are first, followed by resistors and capacitors.

Try and isolate the problem. Take an RCA cable and plug it into the jack on the back of the head. This will give you the signal from the preamps. Is there a lot of hiss at this point?
