My Kustom collection [message #2752] Fri, 23 May 2003 14:41 Go to next message

I have just found and bought a Kustom 200 with the 6 position Harmonic clipper it looks like it has been reupholstered but it could be original there is some static and I am having it looked at by a very competant repairman here in atlanta. I own another 200 guitar head that a friend put some terrible fuzz circuit in and a totally stock 200 bass amp.I also have a 4-12 cab that had a amp built in that had no volume control just an input jack how was this used? In the old days I had a Kasino 200 bass amp with 2-15's and my whole band played thru it at one time!!!!! These new kids got it good!!!! But that amp never failed and boy was it loud we had an old vox echo with 3 inputs so that meant it could handle 3 instruments, right? So we used it as a pre amp for the Kasino and that my friends was rockn'roll in the 70's!! To this day I can still feel that thing in my chest as I would lean it back on its wheels and walk thru a door only to have the skin on my knuckles pay the price but one thing for sure was I had the biggest amp in town!!!!!!!!!!! hey Greg...thanks for sharing..you're not too far away from me.. I'm up in Charlotte..used to run to Atlanta about every other week..but lost my job 2 weeks ago..so not as likely to have an immediate chance to visit...but still..4 hrs ain't a bad run to see somebody's cool kustoms! One of the slant era guys will know more than I about your 4x12 with the built in power amp..I'm guessing it was part of a 500 series rig which would have come with a passive 4x12 cab and 250 power head then add the second powered cab so unless it looks like a hack job, its probably the real deal..those cabs are great for guitar..just have nice open yet full sound..so much material went into them...the ports on the front, the 4 slots on the back panel, and even grill on those..lotta rig! sound like you've got a great collection going...just be forewarned..hanging around these guys can require an additional room in the house before you're done just to hold all the toys we'll talk you into buying...Play Loud!
