CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. IF YOU WIRE UP A SINGLE 2-15 CABINET TO RUN OFF OF A K200B BASS HEAD, YOU NEED TO WIRE IN PARALLEL TWO 8 OHM SPEAKERS TO GET 4 OHMS??? IF YOU ARE GOING TO RUN TWO 2-15 CABINETS, AND PLUG BOTH IN TO THE BACK OF THE AMP, YOU WIRE 4 16 OHM SPEAKERS IN PARALLEL. A 3-15 CAB SHOULD BE WIRED 3 16 OHM SPEAKERS IN PARALLEL TO MATCH THE K200B AMP HEAD??? ONE LAST QUESTION: THE KUSTOM CHROME PORTS WERE 4" DIAMETER.???? ANY AVAILABLE??? THANKS.....JIM

Hello. You are correct about the ohm loads, K200's have a minimum impedance of 4 ohms while a K100 has a (safe) minimum of 8 ohms. I am not sure about the port diameter, but I own one 2x15 and am borrowing two, and four inches sounds about right if I am not mistaken. Thanks!

THANKS FOR THE QUICK REPLY. I HAVE PICKED UP A LOT OF GOOD INFORMATION ON THIS SITE AND IT'S BEEN FUN BUT I WAS A BIT CONFUSED. IT'S BEEN A FEW DECADES BUT I THOUGHT I WORKED WITH A K200B-1 ON BASS WITH A 2-15 KUSTOM CABINET THAT WAS SET UP WITH TWO JBL D140's WIRED IN PARALLEL AND OF COURSE IT WAS GREAT. I LATER ADDED A CABINET THAT WAS IDENTICAL TO THE FIRST, AND SIMPLY PLUGGED IT IN TO THE OTHER PLUG IN RECEPTACLE THAT CAME ON THE BACK OF THE AMP TOP (TWO PLUG INS FROM FACTORY) AND AGAIN IT SOUNDED GREAT. AS I REMEMBER, A FREIND DID EXACTLY THE SAME WITH TWO 3-15 KUSTOM CABINETS WITH 3 16 OHM JBL D140's WIRED IN PARALLEL (5.3 OHMS) WE ALSO USED A K200B-5 FOR PA AND DID THE SAME THING (4 OHM PA CABS PLUGGED IN). I THOUGHT THAT IF THE SPEAKER CABINETS WERE SET UP AT 4 OHMS, YOU COULD PLUG IN EITHER ONE OR TWO AND IT MATCHED AND WORKED GREAT. ANY IDEAS??? THANKS, JIM

Every time you half the speaker impedance load you are doubling the current that the output stage has to put out and having the voltage. When kustoms use to have speaker fuses on the front panel becaues they had no output circuit protection, the fuse was a 5 amper, two 4 ohm laods together would need 10 amps to drive 100 watts RMS to the impedance load. Depending on how loud you play if nothing else the amp will run alot hotter. The 200s and the 250s power supply will not provide that much current so all you will get is early distortion running at 2 ohms and a geatly inlarged risk of blowing the output stage!
