Can anybody please tell me what the price should be on a Vintage Kustom 3 15" bass cabinet. It is in perfect shape. There are no rips in the fabric and it looks almost new but it has the Kustom by Ross logo so I know it is from the 60's. It sounds great. The seller is asking $300 for it. I just need to know what the price should be on this cabinet. It is just the cabinet, no head. Please help. Thanks.

That's hard to put a price on the cabinet. Color will sometimes determine price, type of speakers in the cabinet. Does it have a siren horn in the top. Four small port holes behind the grill cloth, two large aluminum ports that are mounted in front of the grill cloth, chrome port tubes. Are the speaker original to the cabinet? JBL's, ALtec's, Jensen or CTS speakers inside? Does it still have the cover? Casters and handles all intact? Just to many things to know before I would dare guess on a price. I have purchased a 3x15 black siren cabinet in excellent conditon for 150.00. I guess that if you like the cabinet, love the sound, and have a way to transport it, I wouldn't be afraid to spend the money. What can you buy today for 300.00 in a cabinet that looks as Kool as a 3x15 Kustom and would sound that good. I have a K200B-1 head in black that would look great if your cabinet is black. Let us know a little more about the cabinet.

Even if that cabinet has the base line CTS bass drivers, or the base line Jensen guitar drivers, a cab in good shape is worth 300 beans.
If those are the Jensen C15L drivers they are worth 100 bucks easy each on ebay, Hell! the Coldsprings electrical works site in MA has a 1967 Jensen model C15P driver( a model 4 steps down on the jensen efficaicy list)and he wants 175!! bucks for it.
I would shell out 300 in a heart beat for it. You could sell the cab for 150 alone with out a problem from what you say its condition is.

I probably already know the answer to this, and I'm in no way thinking about selling the pair of 2-15 + 1 H cabs I just bought. I love them. But do the horn cabs tend to go for more when sold than the straight up 3-15 cabs?.

Rod, I think it is all a matter of what a guy has and what he is looking for. When I had no siren cabs they were my quest, and I would have paid more. After I acquired them I was fine with reg 3x15s. So if a guy approached me with siren cabs I would have said, "Yeah, got some of those already" and I was in a better position to negotiate. BC
