Hello i'm new to this site as well. I have an older Kustom 150 with matching 2 15" cab that i just purchased and the head doesn't work. I opened it up there is power at the fuse there seams to be power at the switch. the polarity switch doesn't work when you press it but i can switch it manually from inside. the lights don't come on. the guy i got it from said it worked fine lst time he played it but when he plugged it back in nothing worked. the inside looks dam clean nothing is burnt no cracks no dust even. The fuse is fine. i own a multi meter and tools. I was wondering if anyone out there has any idea what is wrong and if it could be a quick fix or a big problem.
Thanks in advance.
UPDATE! when you turn it on you can hear the reverb tank and the vibrato tremelo etc. but still no sound from the inputs.

Hello and welcome.
Well , the good news is that if you can hear the reverb clang and the tremolo swirll, then the amps output stage is working and so is the effects stage.
Just why both preamps are non- functional is strange, as all the boards in that amp plug in so my first thought is that their 9 pin moldex plugs are unpluged or making poor a connection as they are known to do.You might try unplugging them and rocking them around to see if the signal flow comes and goes. This would be my first hope for a easy fix.
My next guess would be that the 14 pin IC chip on the 5066 PC board( the channel without selctone) is dead, as the signal from the 5067 baord passes thru that chip also.
I would not worry about the polariy swt not working as most folks install a three prong cord for proper grounding which is done by cutting out the cap off of that switch that goes to ground and not use the switch any longer any whay.
The K150 model was never offered with a 2-15" cabinet, so by matching you are reffering to color I guess as what you have is a K200, or K250 cabinet.
I would check the cabinets resistance with a meter to confirm that it does not read below 4 ohms, as k150 is built to run on a 6 to 8 ohm load. If your cabinet reads above 5 ohms , but less than 8 ohms that it is a 8 ohm cabinet.
You can run the K150 into a 4 ohm load but I would not play it with the volume over 4( lees than half) or you stand a chance of over heating the amp. They do have a thermal circuit breaker in the output stage, but its best not to push 35 year old electronics too hard.
The switch lights not coming on is most likly that both bulbs are out.

Hi,
If that amp you bought was on Craiglist (Maine) last week, that one had a 2x12 cabinet.
