Hey guys,
I spent a couple of weeks rehabbing it after buying from the original owner. It's now finished and tucked away, complete with its original cover, for later usage. 1972 non-powered charcoal gray cab with original CTS 4 ohm speaker. For now, I've put a Cerwin Vega 300 watt RMS 8 ohm speaker in for use with my '68 Kustom K200B1 head and matching 2-15 cab.
The pics are located somewhere else and there are a few hoops to jump through, but once done, you'll have great full size pics from inside and out. As I said earlier, a real beast with the rear facing speaker and folded horn design. Interesting shots. So, if you don't mind a few hoops, go to http://oren-hudson.u.yuku.com/gallery then go right and down and click the Kustom pic. Then go to the right and click RSS. Last step - go to the left and click the green arrow that follows (Oren Hudson). Enjoy.

Very cool indeed! I bet it willshake your teeth right outta your head!
I am going to make a hybrid cab. A friend of our Kustom group, I think Brad Crowder maybe....had one of these. Take a 2 x 15" cab and remove the baffle board and make a new one with a hole for a 18" speaker on the bottom and a 12" speaker on the top, both 8 ohm so 4 ohm total load.....that thing sounded incredible! I have a nice recovered cab and I am going to make this a bass rig from hell.....lol! With a K200-1 head it will be rockin. I am looking for a 18" black widow to install in it and that will give me some motivation to order some grill cloth and buy a chunk of plywood.

Thanks Kustom_Bart. I've still not found one of my teeth after test driving. This cab is indeed a monster in size too. It stands well over 4 feet high, a little over 2 feet wide and over a foot and a 1/2 deep. Weighs probably 130-140 pounds!
Interesting idea on the custom Kustom cab. Keep us posted. BTW, my recommendation on the Black Widow would be a newer 1502-DT.
******** PS - scratch the Peavey recommendation. I was thinking about 15" and not 18." **********

Yes I love the 1x18 Kustom cabinets. I have a silver sparkle Cabinet that has a Cerwin Vega L188 in it. Great sounding cab. I would like to find another one and put the power amp in it so I can make a 500 series! Keep on pumping out the Kustom sound!

Around the southeast, don't see many of these cabs. I'd never seen one in person until this one. Never seen ads or pics of one with the power module. That would be extremely cool and back breaking - but - what the heck - enjoy as much as you can.

I have seen a hundred black ones and a couple of blue ones, but not a charcoal (The charcoal is the nicest for sure). I couldn't lug one around and I am still semi young compared to most of the collectors...lol!

Cool that you like the charcoal. Me too. Not an easy load even with help in most situations. Loading it by myself into my band trailer was a struggle. Even with a rear load ramp door, I ended up taking one arm and grabbing one of the door frame braces for support while pulling it up the ramp with the other arm. Again, a monster, but a pleasure as well.
