I have a 1-18B folded horn cab and a k200 amp can this be used safely with this 3.2 ohm speaker?

I am interested in this 3.2 ohm speaker. I know there were some low quality car speakers for sale in the 60's, but I am unaware of an 18" speaker with that impedance. How did you come to that value? Is that the published value or are you testing it with an ohmeter? DC resistance is always less than the AC impedance. If that is the case you have a 4 ohm speaker which would be just fine with a K200.

The rated impedance of the Kustom 1-18B was 3.2 ohms.
So the measured impedance would probably be about 2.4 to 2.7 ohms.
It should be fine with a K200 amp – if it runs hot, put a fan inside – for one amp I put in a 220 volt fan - running at 120v it makes very little noise.
(Keep in mind, too, that you can’t be sure that the cabinet still has the stock speaker – it could have been changed by a prior owner.)

I used a K100 for many gigs with a 4 ohm rated cabinet that measured 2.8 ohms, so a K200 should be fine at that impedance.

The speaker was really said to be 4 ohms, but they measure out at 3 something.
