As many of you may know I have been the previous owner of a TRT100 model circa late 1999 that I just sold last year.
Just this month I was contacted to fix a problem with a TRT50 model.
These amps are desinged well, but spec`ed poorly!
The two major things I found where #1) this being mainly a tube amp was that many of the resistors where only 1/4 watters where even 1/2 watt rated resistors if used would be at their edge of holding up long term!
Problem #2) that all owners of TRT50 models need to take care of pronto is the internal power supply fuse as shipped is .500 amp.
This is the same power supply board as used in the TRT100 model that has 4 output tubes, not 2 like the model 50.
If a output tubes shorts in the model 50, this .500 amp fuse will not blow until enough damage is done to the output transformer as to cause the main a/c to blow.
The least that should be done is to replace the fuse with a easy to get GMA type .315 amp fuse which is still too large as a .250 amp is whats needed, but this should allow the output transformer to survive should a output tube go dead due to a short!
