I have a 300 lead head with reverb, tremelo, and vibrato. It has a 2x10/2x12 cab. I hooked it up a few days ago and it made a sort of a popping sound. Then almost no sound came out. You could barely hear the guitar with everything on ten. Not too much for a large amp. The pilot light still burns merrily. Any ideas?

output transitors?????? Maybe some loose solders on the big orange drops???????

Thanks Deb for the input (pun intended). This old amp was repaired once about ten years ago. Something might have wiggled loose like you are describing.

I had a crapy peavey bass amp and it would make a pop sound and the vol. would cut out but what i would do to get it out of it was to crank the vol. and all the treb. mid. and bass. to max and crank the guitar vol. up to max and it would make a pop sound and would work and after awile it stoped doing that it has somthing to do with the pre amp section its because the amp being vibrated from being draged all over the place and playing to loud to long well thats my 2 cents ps PEAVEY SUCKS Bass N Drum Boy

Thanks bassdrumboy. But thats about the first thing I did. Thats how I found out there was a slight guitar sound coming out of it with everything wide open. But I appreciate the thought.

Talked to my tech and told him I had found a schematic due to help from here. He said to bring it on over thats he's the authorized tech for the new Kustom company in this area. How about that.
