Yes, this tank will work in all vintage plexi and metal face Kustoms that I have seen so far. All you have to do is jump across the proper terminals of the jack to get the reverb or the tremlo or both on all the time. It will be better to jump across a 1/4" guitar plug than to slide the amp out of the cab to jump the jack.In trouble shooting the input side of a reverb pan,you can hook up the RCA jack that went into the input of the pan to a volt meter set for the lowest A/C volt scale and then play thru the amp, you should see the voltage go up and down as you play, and inturn confirm that the reverb drive amp is OK.
Oh so it could be something else in the amp not working properly that is causing the reverb not to work?
It does'nt make any noise at all not even the rattle of thunder you ususally hear when the amp is bumped.

No rattle means either the output side of the pan is bad, or the RCA cord on the output side is bad, or the amp stage on the output side is bad. you can check to see if the the amp is ok by putting the tip of a small screwdriver in the female RCA jack the the pan output went into, and with the reverb turned up you should hear a buzz jst like having one end of a guitar cord pluged into the amp as normal.
Howdy.
I'm trying to get my Commander's reverb to work properly.I replaced the tank with one from AMPWARES (4FB3D1B) and it still isn't working the way I feel it should. In short, I have input and output....it's just REAL boomy and slightly distorted. Actually it has a slight square-wave fuzz sound. The cables to and fro were replaced and they're OK, I cleaned the jacks with contact cleaner.....any suggestions?
Well, on mine, it was a simple as pushing in the reverb jack into the back of the amp very tightly.....it for mine, needed to be in there tight to make a good connection to the amp....worked beautiful after that!

You need to check the pans input and output signal on a scope to see where and if its clipping and that I guess this is a different problem with the reverb than you has before?
Hey Ya'll,
I took the advice of Woody96 (thank-you very kindly, by the way!!!) and no luck. But, check this out....I opened up the amp and thought how wierd it was that the company would use RCA plugs to connect to the board from the outer jacks (making sense?) So, I unplugged these and replaced them with modern RCA plugs and wired the end to the jacks on the chasis and BAM!!!! No problem....reverb heaven!!! I used gold-plated RCA's (all I had on-hand), but I suppose any would do. Thanks a bunch, you guys, you really helped me narrow it down!! Have a great day!
