I've got two late 70's and 80;s K PA power amps in my shop for inspection with SN past Les's last T&R Chart in the SN 191000 thru 200000 series. Like the older T&R's these were still from Chanute and are built like tanks and are powerfull and sound clean and quiet. Didn't need No Stinking Fans in those days. The one amp is a 135 Watt RMS KX M8IV0 two rack mt size monitor amp and has Shirley Taylor's Inspection sticker inside with a date of 24JAN1978 so this one is easy SN: 191864 = 1978. It also packs a pretty good punch. The Big Monster BI-Amp Slave XII has 410 Watts RMS with SN: 224375 got from Origianl Owner still in original box and this baby is clean inside and out. So I'm guessing 1980-81. This sucker weighs over 60 lbs and takes up 6 rack spaces. Haven't been able to test to full potential it has 2 inputs But 8 speaker out jacks, master volume knob, horn volume knob, a Crossover switch w/1000, 800, 500 settings. I'm asuming this was made to push BIG 15' and up PA cabs?
Anyone ever use one of these monsters? What's up Ed?
