Just have a couple questions on the treble/bright pot on a K250-4. What value is the pot? What function is the push/pull switch (off/on, on/on)? Is it linear or audio taper. Would this work... http://cgi.ebay.com/Kustom-24mm-Pot-100k-Linear-Switched-On- Off-R-V10KL-S_W0QQitemZ130123811046QQihZ003QQcategoryZ47076Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem?_trksid=p1638.m118

I can let you know its value in the morning, but I think its audio taper and its 1/4 inch shaft.
The switch cuts in a added cap for more briteness.

Which channel of the 250-4 are you talking about?
What is the problem with the one you have?

The normal channel PC5066 uses a 50K pot with push/pull on/off switch. Original Kustom part number 133-0034-00.

The Selectone channel PC5067 uses a 10K pot with a push/pull on/off switch. Original Kustom part number 133-0036-00.

I don't know the specs for the taper or either pot, but my guess would be audio.

In either case the pull switch turns on and off the bright function.

The one on eBay will not work in either channel.

Channel two is the problem. This is really helping me get somewhere now. I think Tubes and More has what I need. http://www.tubesandmore.com/scripts/foxweb.dll/moreinfo@d:/d fs/elevclients/cemirror/ELEVATOR.FXP?item=R-V50KA-S-KU That is assuming it's audio taper. I don't have the amp here right now, but there's no way those bushings on the pots are 1/4". Unless stevem was referring to the shaft diameter, which sounds right on the money. I was thinking more like 3/8" for diameter of the threaded portion. If so, I think that pot I listed would be just the ticket.

Yes, that looks like the right pot for a PC5066 pre-amp board.
Check your board number before ordering as other boards used different values. If you have a 250-4 you should have one PC5066 and one PC5067.

Steve was talking about the shaft diameter. Most old style Kustom amps used 1/4" shaft pots, with D-shafts. The threaded bushing is 3/8" diameter.

On some replacement pots with switches you are able to uncrimp the metal case from the front face of the pot and then use the original pots case on the new face, but both have to be taken apart to find out.
Un bend the 4 crimp tabs just enough to get the pot face out.
