Hi. If the jack is still tight in the amp frame and not spinnig, get a paper type nail file, cut it lenght wise so it will just slide in the jack, also get a metal cooking skewer hold it on top of the nail file while you put it in the jack and pull in and out over the tang that makes the connection on the tip of the plug end and this will clean the corrosion off the jack tang. sometimes the tang itself has to be bent more to keep the body of the plug pressed against the main wall of the jack. The only way to do that is open the amp up, and at that point you may as well replace the jack.If you find that just cleaning the jack helps then go to radio shack, get a can of contack cleaner spray down the plug and run it in and out of the jack to clean and coat the metal contacks.

If you have a good electronics store close by, buy a Switchcraft 11 jack. Early on in amplifier production, everyone used switchcraft jacks and pugs including Kustom. They are still the best. Conrad

As far as a cleaner, I'd use DeOxit 5 (red)...

Hi, if after replacing the jack you still get intermitant output, confirm that your speaker cord is solid and the cabinet end jack is ok by feeding it with another amp. If that checks out you may have a bad solder connection on a board, or a loose conection on a output tranistor socket and the amp should be checked out by a tech. Question, if you listen close to the amp, is the normal hiss the amp makes intermitant also, if not than you probibly have a preamp problem and the output side problem you have been tracking down is false.
