Back in December, I was doing a national search on "craigslist", and found this rig listed in Cookeville,TN. I have been looking for another 3x12" or a 2x12 + 2x10" cab to match the 3x12 I converted a few years ago. I then realized that my younger brother lives 5 miles from Cookeville, so I had him check it out for me. I closed the deal, knowing that it may be a while before I got my hands on it. Well, this past weekend he made a trip to Louisiana and brought it to me. It is in pretty good shape, a few scuffs and minor tears here and there. I already have some Eminence bass speakers to replace the Jensons and "no name" 10's. I will probably have to make a new baffle board to match my current cabinet - the ports and speakers do not line up. I will probably also make a new back panel, because the factory 2x12 + 2x10 has 2 rear ports for the 10's. I have been using a Carvin BX500 head with the single cab, because the 10's and 12's are wired separately - giving a 2 ohm load. I will either get a power amp or another BX500 to complete my "rig of doom". I did have some bad luck (or stupidity) today. I asked how to install a grounded power cord, and "chicagobill" gave me the word. I did the install, and when I powered it up the polarity switch shorted out, and the amp is "dead". I bought the rig mainly for the cabinet, but I was hoping to keep the K250. Now, I may never know how this "animal" sounds ! I know of NO ONE locally that could (or would) work on this head, and I also realize that it may not be worth it.

It should not be a big deal by any means to fix the amp from the grounded ac cord mishap.
All the polarity swt does is place a small .05mfd 400 volt cap to ground, and all the swt does is hook up the non grounded lead of the cap to one side or the other of the ac line feeding the amp.
No harm could have come to any of the electronics in the amp other than that swt which when you install a grounded cord you do not need that swt at all anyway!
