Hello. does anyone know what lamp to use on a K50-2.

Also, can anyone tell me anything about this model? I just got it. Its in mint condition. It looks like it was never used. I paid alot for it on ebay though, but I think its worth it. I dont care much for the sound of the reverb. Its very tinny sounding and is producing a strange but muted sound that is not normal. Otherwise, I love it. Great tone and has an original C12N I believe. The seller on Ebay said it is soo loud that it "shakes the walls"...well, it is hardly loud enough to rattle my picture frames but I still like it alot. Any info would be appreciated, especially about the lamp..i tried the lamp from my deluxe reverb and it blew immediately...

Thanks

The bulb from your fender is a 6.3 volt bulb. The kustoms run at a higher voltage. I forget the bulb number you need, but I will let you know. The bulb you now need for your fender is a # 47, that you can get from the ampwares site. I think the kustoms number is 49, I am just not sure right now.

Hi srandallf,

The bulb you need is an 1829.
Here is more info on replacement bulbs for Kustoms:
...............................................
Replacement pilot lights
VintageKustomFAQ3

Model............................................lamp#....... ..................Volts/ma
K100, K200,Frankie,Combo organ ....1829 (Grainger #6VF92) 28 volts 70ma
(#1819 is 28 volts 40ma and will work but is not as bright as #1829)
Do not use a 6.3 volt bulb, it will make the resistor run too hot.

The output of the transformer is 42 volts - a 200 ohm resistor is wired in series with the bulb that reduces the voltage down to 28 volts.

Model....................................................... .......................... .lamp# .....Volts/ma
K150/K250/Hustler,Sidewinder,Charger,Commander,Challenger . ..GE335 28 volts at 40ma
These two bulbs are not correct and can cause the resistor to overheat:
Radio Shack 272-1143 (12 volts at 75ma)
GE373 (14 volts at 80 ma)

Texas

#335 lamp - part # 606-CM335 -$.98 each
#1829 lamp - part # 606-CM1829 -$.74 each ($.64 each for 10 or more)

For Grainger store near you go to www.grainger.com (must have business account to order online)
#1829 lamp - Grainger part # 6VF92

Radio Shack carries only the #1819 bulb (not as bright as #1829)...their number is 272-1119 and it sells for $1.79.
