So I was at band practice tonight getting ready for my big premier tomorrow night . Every thing was fine we were going over one last song when my amp just quit . I unplugged the cord from the #1 jack and plugged it into the #2 jack. I got a lot of crackling and some signal then nothing . I live in upstate New york near Ithaca is there anyone near me that I can take my amp to? luckily I can use another amp ,but I was really looking forward to playing my Charger that I've told all my friends about.

so is the power lamp still on?
Does the amp make a slight thump at turn on?
Will winging the volume control make the amp crackle?

The amp did make a thump when you power it up, but when I just checked the volume knob it did it once and won't make the bump noise anymore. you can here a humming sound which I assume is the transformer . The light hasn't worked since i've owned it the bulb is blown. No crackle when you turn any knobs.

Does banging on the top some with your fist make it crackle or cut in and out while playing?

Sorry to hear of the trouble with the amp...I never had any trouble with my Chargers. I had one with a chassis that had a high volume breakup which I thought was a driver transistor. I have had some problems with poor connections on the chassis plugs
but I don't think that is your problem but you could give the plugs a try... A chassis schematic is on the inside cover but if you need one just let me know and I will photocopy my supersound set and sent it to you... Let me know if I can be of any help.

Don't feel left out ...My car just "died" today on the way to work... Shocked
