Hey guys, havent posted for a while. I have been looking for a 2x15 with Lansings for my gold L795RV frankie head and cant find the right deal. Anyone out there got one they could part with for a reasonable fee? I would pay full shipping costs of course and could pick up if within say, 200 miles of Cape Cod Mass. Gold is preferable but a cab with the right speakers and wrong color is ok too. My goal is to bring this baby back close to stock, and I could re-cover the speaker box to match my head if needed. I would take a later 2x15 also , but that is less desireable. Lets talk!- Thekid

There was a black Frankie 2-15 cabinet on Craigslist in the New england area... and I think it was in New York somewhere... It was a black cab. The Search notes I made last weekend are at home. I will forward the listing info this evening after I get home from work. I thought about getting this myself as there was a Frankie Bass head in black in Kansas and close enuf to me to drive for. It looked in decent shape for 40+ years. That deal fell thru as the idiot wouldn't reply to any email questions and then jacked up the price.. and it needed the care of a technician!!!

Yeah, I know the later cabs are wider, but thats secondary to what speakers are in the cab for me. Im lookin for JBL 15's specifically. I am willing to build my "dream cab" from multiple cabs if I have to ,with the end goal being a Gold, 2x15, frankie cab , with JBL d130f speakers. If I need to buy a later cab with the right speakers, or the right cab with the wrong speakers, so be it. I prefer not to deal with shipping, its always so expensive for these cabs! so local is best, but Shaun offered to sell me one of his 2x 15's and changed his mind! seller's remorse I guess. I may contact him again just to see if he has re-changed his mind, lol. Anyway thanks for the leads and keep em comin!

I think you have helped kustomholic! You say the Frankie head puts out 4 ohms? someone told me they put out 8! how sure are you of this info? at 8 ohms this thing is plenty loud driving 4x12 Celestions, I can only fantasize how loud itd be at 4 ohms thru 2x15 Lansings!

The frankie heads run 100 watts at 4 ohms. If you think it's loud at a 8 ohm load, it will not be twice as loud with a 4 ohm cabinet. Kustom used 16 ohm speakers in their cabinets so a Frankie head could run one 2x15 cabinet or a pair of 2x15 cabinets. You'll notice in all the catalogs beginning with the Frankie series, they were pictured with a single 2x15 cabinet, and also a pair of the 2x15 cabinets. They never offered the Frankie head with a pair of 3x15 cabinets. The 3x15 cabinet is 5.33 ohms so it was between the 8 ohm 2x15 cabinet and a pair of 2x15 cabinets that would be a 4 ohm load to the head.
Same is true in K200A and B series amps. They also were a 4 ohm total load amp.
The exception in the K200 series were the siren 3x15 cabinets used for PA. The horn and dividing crossover allowed for running a pair of 3x15 siren cabinets.
