I was browsing through the forum the other day looking for info on a K100-1. A friend of mine gave me one for Christmas, knowing that I love a challenge. It has a pretty loud hiss. I would love to find a schematic so I can start going through the amp.
I am sure I will have more questions as I go. It is in beautiful condition physically and would be perfect if not for the hiss.
If there are any questions I can answer to help start the diagnosis before I get a schematic, ask and I will answer as best as I can. I am a novice when it comes to electrical work, but I can solder parts like no ones business. I don't have a scope, but I can probably gain access to one if necessary.

Hi. you should not need a schematic for this repair, but I can fax you one if you like .
What model k100 is this, as it sounds like the singal channel head with reverb and tremolo since you did not mention a second channel.
Most hiss problems stem from a bad first or second gain stage transistor, although it could be bad tantalum cap.
I can fax you a schematic on Tuesday or Wednsday.
I snapped a photo of the front of the head. I think it is a 100-1 because it has 2 channels, both have controls for volume, bass and treble, and a high and low 1/4" input. One is labeled bright, and the other is labeled normal.
