Please excuse my ignorance...... Most amps control knobs are marked 1-10, 0-10, etc. My 200B-1 has six of those little "triangle" markers at each knob. How is the setting regarding the little triangles read? When I'm trying to refer to amp settings, it's not really clear which is '1', which is '0', etc. Do these amps go from 0-5, or 1-6? Does the 12 o'clock position get its own "invisible" designation, thereby going from 1-7?. This may seem trivial, but it can be confusing (I'm easily confused). Is there a "convention" out there that is generally agreed upon? What do all of you "Veteran" Vintage Kustom players do?

Gene, Not that I'm the "expert" at this, but I refer to the volume settings as positions on a clock face when I discuss that sort of thing with my brother. You know, like 12:00 noon, 10:00, 2:00 etc. It makes it easier for us to understand each other. Just a thought... I'll be curious to see what everybody else does. Deb

Not a dumb question at all.....quite valid. I had my first Kustom in 71....sold it in 74 or 75...came back home to them in 99 and I have never been happier in my gear. To get back to the question I find myself to be a clock face sort of guy too! BC!

Lately I've been playing JC's old red K200 B-2 sitting on top a black 1x15+H. "Clock" settings on it are a normal thing, but I evision the scale as including: 9 o'clock = the cat leaves the room, wife gives the 'annoyed' look 10 o'clock = cat streaks thru house, wife gone 11 o'clock = loose papers in living room flutter, cat hides in the shower 12 o'clock = pilot light on water heater blows out, cat is now comatose 1 o'clock = cat succumbs, all digital devices in house flash "12:00" 2 o'clock = I don't know - I've not needed to crank it that high YMMV :~ ]

Well, the 6:00 p.m. setting has the cops showing up.....and a whole lot of pissed off neighbors, broken picture frames on the floor, the big screen tv glass shattered, 4 cats laying dead in the basement, and cracks in my house's foundation.... And, that's only a 200-1 turned upfull blast! Just imagine what my 250 does! :-)

what ya'll are calling 11:00 I've always thought of as 4...straight up is 5 and one tri past that is 6...I don't know why...thats just how I've always thought of it...and for the record...given the pedal gear and the added dbgain structure that pushes to the kustom preamp...4 is usually optimum...5 is the envelope...and if you have better speakers...you can go up to 6.5 after that the distortion that brought solid state the ugly aware starts to kick in..again..its gain structure...so your situation may be diff. but for all of my rigs...once I get my pedal boad throttled into any of my kustoms set on 5...all is right with the world cause I'm playin Loud!
