I have purchased a T&R cabinet to go with my K-100-2
head. It has 2 each 10 inch speakers and 1 each 16 inch (all
16 ohm). The 16" indicates its "remanufactured" for Kustom
and has a Kustom inspection stamp on it (dated 1973). Not sure about the 10's. The numbers
038-0025-00, 137, 7005, 16 ohms appear on the one of the 10" magnets.
Two questions: I can't find this speaker configuration
in any of the old literature for cabinets. I'm looking for any info on the orginal intent for this cabinet (bass, guitar, etc).
Also, the 10's need replacing. I'm looking for best replacement spec's to look for.

I've seen two of those cabs on eBay. It should have two 10"s on the top and one 15" on the bottom IIRC. What speaker brands are in there now? The best replacements just depend on what you're doing with this amp. Personally, I love Weber speakers. I went with a set of Weber California's after I bought an empty 4x10" cabinet.

Hi.
Your cabinet is a 1970 since the date code on your 2-10" drivers is 7005, the break down goes like this.
The frist part of the code 137 is the manufacures code, this denotes that they where made by CTS, the most used drivers in kustoms. The 7005 code is the production date, so 70 is 1970, and 05 is the fith week of 1970.
Your remanufactured 15" driver is more than likly a CTS driver also.
Thanks for the quick reply ! I'd actually like to
use it for bass primarily but still have the option to play my
Strat thru it and have decent mids and highs!
