Hi All... I'm looking for parts and basic info on the Kustom 200 head and cabs (I'm sure you've covered most these items in previous posts, but I'm a newbie, so go easy on me). I've recently purchased two 200 heads (1 bass model, 1 guitar w/verb and trem), two 215 CTS cabs, one 315 CTS cab, (all black) and a blue 150 combo with 1-15" CTS. I'm looking at a third 200 head now (Guess I got the bug!!!). Anyway, here's what I'm looking for...
#1. Handles. I've seen close approximations at vibroworld(?). Not sure of the name (I've got it bookmarked). These handles have a clear plastic insert. Does anyone have a line on the black insert handles.
#2. Knobs. I read one post regarding Ric knobs. Has anyone come up with anything else?
#3. Speakers. Has anyone out there tried Webers? I'm looking for a JBL D140 sound and they make a "California" Ceramic 15", 60 watts RMS, which they claim sounds like a JBL D130. I use these cabs primarily for bass. Any suggestions?
#4. Wattage rating. Is the 100 watt RMS rating for the 200 head at a 4 or 8 ohm load?
#5. A question for the bassists out there. Do you find yourself running the bass up around 3/4 of the way to get enough low end. The reason I'm asking is I wonder if perhaps there's something wrong with the amps (such as vintage tube amps needing recapped). I'm no tech, as you can tell...
#6. Casters. Any tips or info on where to purchase?
I truly appreciate any bone y'all can throw my way.
Thanks!
Jon

Well, I have tried that very speaker----Weber California 15----one word AWESOME!!!! I was using it for a 50 watt tube guitar amp though, not bass....it is an incredibly made, GREAT sounding speaker (each one hand maide too)...if I go for a replacement in a 12" (I am shopping now.......);I am looking for a JBL speaker (Way too much $$$), I WILL GET THE WEBER 12" California......its $85! Cool

Hello and welcome!Nice finds on the gear.I will try and pass along some resolve to your questions. The 200 heads are 100 watts RMS at 4 ohms.A person on this site named Kustomblues at one time had knobs, radio shack carrys a close replacement. If you do all of them the amp looks good.I guess you could order them from rickenbacker, but their may be a certain amount you may have to order.the only place I have seen wheels is parts express, but there model is a stud and socket type not a bolt on plate type. but I guess you could lobb the stud off and weld it to the original plate. The handles I have only seen at vibroworld, mabe if you call them their supplyer may offer a gray one? While you are at the parts express site, check out their emeinence speaker line. I forget the model number, but they have one that is rated for 101 or 102 spl and a frequency ratting of 40 to 4000 cycles.

The BEST place to get casters is from Grainger at Grainger.com or one of hundreds of stores in major metropolitan areas. The caster you are looking for is part number 5X758 at $5.27 each. the mounting plate has a slightly different bolt hole arrangement but it will work with very little effort. If you need more help, let me know your location and I can get more information to you.

Hello, All...
Thanks for the info!
Conrad, could you tell me... Are the casters from Grainger made by Madico (or Faultless)? I'm just curious about the brand.
Thanks a million, Guys!

There are 12 casters for sale on eBay right now. You have a price to shoot for. Happy bidding.

I found these at Northern Tool

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/NTELar geImageView?rfno=137250&storeId=6970

On sale for $2.99 each. They "look" like the real thing, but the mounting plate looks square.

I tried to order from Grainger once, but they pretty much require that you prove you're a business - they don't sell retail to individuals. I don't know about Northern Tool, though.

Lowes has some that are also nearly a perfect match, but they're only available in brass - they do look good if your T&R is Gold, though. They come in packs of two for about $7 a pack.

All you need to do is tell Grainger who you work for. Most businesses have done some business with Grainger. If not, just drop the name of any building contractor and tell them it's a cash sale. They don't do any backround checks. The counter guys could care less.
