Guys, I may have stumbled upon a rare bird indeed....a 1970 (year I think) plexi face, K100, 4x10 combo. All original; original footswitch and cover......I hate to say this---but it is truly a museum piece.....minty, minty, minty. It is in the rare cascade color...no fading, no issues at all. BEAUTIUL!!! Looks like it has been under a cover all its life.....

What is this worth? The seller is asking $700.......(I am thinking of selling about all I have in music stuff to get the $$ together to get it---it is again; BEAUTIFUL and all original and AWESOME tone....no issues at all, anywhere!!!

woody96,
$700 is the high side of what these things go for, but if it really is in mint condition, it is probably worth it.
I would just make sure that it is perfect. Check the amp and effects really well. Make sure the noise of the amp is not excessive. Make sure the speakers all work, and that they match each other. It probably has Eminence drivers, which are fine, but just not as valuable as Jensens.

It is all the above; everything works GREAT and all original; has the aluminum cone with the "black dot" center speakers....eminence right? I don't have the speaker code numbers to verify speaker manufacturer.......man, even the cover is pristine! Again, the cascade color T&R......

Great find! Cascade is my favorite color.

I've seen Kustoms with Jensen speakers that had the dotted metal dust caps. I'm not really sure, but they could've be original or they could've be old re-cones.

But as you already know, the best way to tell is to look inside the back vents and try and read the labels or the code numbers. Either way it sounds like a very kool amp.

Well, I always say it's worth what I am willing to spend on it.
The K100 was a short lived chassis in favor of the K150 chassis.
I owned several of both the K100 and the K150 and really can't tell much difference in tone. The only downside to the 4x10 model is, it tips over easy, not much depth in cabinet dimensions and is top heavy. 700.00 seems high in one respect for it's age and what it is, but on the other hand, 600.00 to 700.00 amps you buy today are pretty much all made in China, and they have no Kool factor. I'd say if you love, get it, you'll kick yourself later if you don't. How many times have we all done that.
