I found this on Ebay, Even tho the music I play is a little extreme I love playing Kustom amps. But the amp I have is awsome but I could use a new one. I been noticing this one around ebay lately, Is she good or not?

Hi,
I am new to the Kustom group, but any Kustom that sounds good and is at a fair market value should be purchased. Good time for the pros to add their views. I found a one in a million 605 blue sparkle that last Sunday was very overpowering to a large outdoor Easter crowd. Four cabinets on stage was fantastic! Doc Kriss, California Still looking for any blue sparkle amps....

I'm hardly an expert on T&R value, but that seems like an excellent price to me. The knobs have been replaced, but you can get new Cosmo knobs (which are identical replacements for the originals) for about 2 bucks or less each. There was a thread here recently where someone found a source for them at an excellent price in small quantities.
I love the speakers with the black vent in the center, too, even though the Altecs and JBLs are probably better sounding.
Looks like it does have some miles on it, but not too bad. YOu can't see the handles - the seller may have purposely not taken any side shots. Repro handles can be had, too, but I think they're pricier, like about 20 bucks each.
IF you like that color, and IF you're ok with a 4-channel head (just fine for guitar or bass, BTW), and IF you're not looking for a pristine specimen, I'd say go for it!

I looked at it and as was stated in another post the knobs are from a Kasino, tears and burns on the head and some on the cabinet. The model is a K200B-5 PA head. The seller didn't mention if the reverb works, just stated that it had 4 controls for reverb. I'd check that out before bidding. The thing I am not excited about is the speakers. They are replacements and don't look to be very heavy duty. I guess price also depends on if you can drive to get it or have to pay shipping on a amp that size. When one surfaces within driving distance I am more apt to buy to save on shipping and also I can hear and look over the rig.

I doubt it is 'champagne' as the ad states. I was actually looking at this one and was actually going to buy and drive down there to snag it, but I couldn't be 100 percent sure that everything on it is original. It's more likely than not that it has faded and was originally charcoal, but many of the others on this site are much more skilled with kolors than I am...

If they are calling it champagne, it is probably silver that has yellowed with age. The colors usually don't fade, they get stained from cigarette smoke in bars and clubs. In SOME cases, it can be cleaned and the color MAY come back. I got a Gold amp that was filthy and it cleaned up quite nicely. Armorall works well. Start with Dawn dish soap in water, use a stiff bristled brush and clean all of the seams vigorously and the T&R. Then wipe it all down, and use Armorall to brighten it and give it a nice shine. Only drawback, the Naugahyde will become slippery after the Armorall is applied. Just don't stop quickly while pushing it fast down a hill.
