How do I get them to stop clawing? Mad Mad Mad My K-200 cab looks brand new (It says Kustom by Ross on the front, but it's a wider cab and so heavy it took two of us to lift), and I want to keep it that way. Any suggestions? Confused Confused

Hi,
You should go to the pet store and ask them.
About 20 years ago I used something to keep my dog away from the furniture - I think it was called something like "bitter apple".

Alright, thanks. Like I said, it looks like someone really took care of this. There already is some cosmetic cat damage but I hav concluded that I've only had the Kustom fortwo days and the door to that room has been shut for one of them. I doubt it's them right now but I realize it can be a problem later on.

I'm heading to Petsmart or Petco now... I just got news today that my mother died... Kind of took the wind out of my sails quite a bit...

Sorry to hear about your mom..... Not all of mine are declawed. I don't have a problem with it with the 3 that aren't declawed... they do love to shred carpet covered amps though....
I have heard other Kustom lovers have had this problem. I haven't
had it with my three that are armed with the little needles. I see no evidence of sharpening on my Tuck n' roll. Do yours go outside? The offenders are the fronts only!!!! No need to remove the rears. If they are inside cat only I wouldn't hesitate to have them removed if they are shredding your cabs. It will probably save you recovering a chair or sofa as well as these are what they really like to shred. Good luck with the solution you choose..

Mine are indoor cats. I would hate to simply chop them off, but at the same time when a cat jumps on your lap and starts 'Making Biscuits' it hurts like hell! Shocked How about those claw covers they sell? are they any good? I might just get a cover for the cab. The head has one. Any cheap suggestions?

A vet surgically removes them... They still try to sharpen but nothing to sharpen so no damage to priceless TUCK!!!!! My 2 that
I did have declawed seem to be fine without them and no painfull knedding!!!! There are a few places that make covers... I don't have info immediatly available but they are listed somewhere on the site in other posts. I was going to get one for my Charger and I think the quote was 55-60 bucks.. Occasionally they are on EBAY...you might get lucky.. Very Happy

I guy I use to know had the same problem with his cats only he had a Fender amp, he went out on weekend and drove around to yard sales and got three used door guards/room dividers like they use for toodlers. He lashed the 3 of them together to fold around the front and sideds of the amp, and with the amps back side on a wall, no more problem and it cost him all of ten bucks!

I would guess if you chained a pit bull to one of the handles, that would defray the cats from coming to close. I agree, Declaw the cats, I have a really nice 2x12 cabinet that the former owner let the cat to it's thing on the T&R. Still looks good on stage but in sitting at home, the damage is evident.

I saw a red T&R up here a while back. A 100 series. Destroyed partly by little furballs. Right now my guitars are zealously guarding the 2x15 cab. I've got a tablecloth that I will cover it with, but if they destroy that, I'll use a heavy duty gas grill cover. =)

I bought that red K100 with the red 1967 2x15.
The guy owned a cat.

Hey Less, if there is a model railroad hobby shop near you they sell it in much bigger cost effective bottles.

The one that was in Somerville? Kustom stealer! I had just emailed him the day after you snagged it, lol! Yeah, that thing looked cool. 17 tubes? My goodness... How does it sound?
