Yesterday, my wife, Cathy, was cleaning out a storage area (with stuff that was first put there by me in 1978) and ran across some interesting stuff, that I had totally forgotten about: the operators manual to the cascade K100 stack (my first Kustom - bought in '70) a small cache of Kustom brochures - the SC's, Kombo II, 150-500 series, etc the set-lists from the first band I was in - back in '70-'72 the band "equipment inventory list" from that band It was nice running across the Kustom stuff. Those old set-lists, however, I can't believe we actually played some of that stuff in public. *cringe* My current band is rehearsing tonite for our New Years Eve gig. The drummer (who has been with us 2 years) is the same drummer from my first band. I'll show some of this stuff to him tonite - should be interesting. Oh, by the way, "Louie, Louie" was on that set-list.

Oh, I forgot to mention that among the assortment of goodies she found were 2 Kustom "newspapers" entitled "The Kustom Sound". Not sure, but it looks like these may have been printed quarterly. The summer '71 issue has the headline "Carpenters on Top", and underneath that headline is a pic of Karen Carpenter at the drums and Richard Carpenter at the Wurlitzer, backed by multiple large black Kustoms. The other one (winter '71) has the headline "New P.A.'s for '71" across the top of the front page, while across the bottom is the beginnings of a decent article on Creedence Clearwater Revival, complete with an interview with John Fogerty. Both newspapers also have a (then) current summary of best selling albums and singles, in the various music categories (rock and roll, r&b, country-western, etc). Along with small articles featuring new up and coming bands of the time (Iron Butterfly, Osmond Bros, Lou Rawls, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, etc). Really interesting reading.

Don't feel bad about the set list, Roy. when I went to pick up my Kustom 200B-1 at my parents house a few months ago, I found an old briefcase with similar stuff to what you found, including a set list from the band I was in during the 80's. It included Olivia Newton-John's, "Physical". Yikes!
