Saturday night I asked Bud about Camco Drums. Terry and I know a guy who has some with Chanute, Kansas on the badges. Kustom bought and later sold Camco. I called the guy tonight and he still has and plays the drums. He bought them in 1971 from Paducah Music Center. (same place I bought my first Kustom also in 1971) My thought is...the next time we have a convention we should invite and include Chanute badged Camco Drums......talk about an All Kustom Stage! What do you think?? BC

I have a set of 1972 Camco by Kustom drums that my Aunt helped me purchase when she worked at the Chanute Kustom Electronics Plant (these have the Chanute badges). I still have the original signed invoice from 1972, for this beautiful blue ripple set.
I was on my way to Chanute last weekend with pictures of my set, my "like new" snare drum, along with several of the original Camco by Kustom drumheads; but couldn't leave at the last minute because my wife became ill.

Sorry to hear about the illness. We would have loved to have met you and seen the pictures...or better yet ...the drums. I have a friend who still has his Camcos he bought in '71. I never thought about him until last Saturday night when I realized our "All Kustom" stage was not QUITE complete. The convention in Chanute was well received by the local folks and I am still riding high on the weekend. I am certain we will have another one. Thanks for posting! Keep in touch. If your pictures are digital we would love to see them! BC
