It might be rare but isn't the $1200 price a little high?

I my opinion - Way High! I'll probably get smacked for this, but I always thought the Kasino line was a bit circus looking.
But I must admit to hearing a few that sounded pretty good. Not sure there is much of a audience for that line.

That's nothing.

Check ebay - there is a K200B-5 and two 4x12 columns for $10,000.
Plus the ad says that some of the speakers might have a problem!

I am not making this up.

Makes the 2 Kasino 2-15"+horn theater cabs with built in amps I bought for $60 look like a heck of a deal.

Could be the Outrageous asking price is to come to a sales price off E-bay. I know I'm getting tired of the newer pricing structure especially with the PayPal Charges that include charges on shipping payments. Craig's List keeps looking better, at least until E-Bay forces them into some sort of Fee Structure.

I bought a Kasino U200-P, which is electronically supposedly the same as a K200B-5. . . 4 channels, volume, bass, treble and reverb on each channel.

I also own a K200B-5 and the first thing I noticed was how much quieter the Kasino was. I bought a set of knobs and pulled the cheesy ones off the Kasino and replaced them so the head looks much better now. I use this head atop a 2-15" Jensen + 1-15" horn cabinet and love it.

Now, the Kasino U200-P is a head (it's basically a K200B head with tolex instead of T&R.) It does not have the trademark stripes on it that some of the later model units did and I agree, they do look like they belong in a circus.

As far as quality, I can't see any difference between the U200-P and the K200B-5. They use the same chassis, same type of reverb tank. With the exception of no tolex on the Kasino and cheesy knobs on the Kasino, they're the same amp, imo.

The $1200 price tag is insanity. Good amp, but not worth near that. I don't know that I've seen anyone that's collecting Kasinos, so there's no vintage market there. You're looking at a little known amp, with cheesy knobs and a circuse act look to it. If you're buying it to use, I wouldn't pay a nickel over $200 for it and that's if I could pick it up in person and not have to pay shipping. And it should be in working order at that price for me to buy it.

If you're buying it as a collector's item, good luck with that. I don't think there's enough market for it. And there may never be.

If he pulls that deal off and sells that unit for $25,000, I'm changing careers. LOL
