What is the correct replacement "power on" light bulb for a Kustom K200A-4 (metal face) head? The blue lens unscrews but the bulb is a bayonet style with an elogated glass envelope. What is the the correct bulb number? I used the wrong one and it didn't last very long.
The replacement pilot light is a #1829 (Grainger #6VF92).
It is 28 volts 70ma.
#1819 is 28 volts 40ma and will work but is not as bright as #1829.
Do not use a 6.3 volt bulb like Fender uses, it will make the resistor run too hot.
(The output of the transformer is 42 volts - a 200 ohm resistor is wired in series with the bulb that reduces the voltage down to 28 volts.)
Hey Les S! Many thanks for the really quick response and for the info that you provided. I had no idea what the correct part was so I decided to Google it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered a vintage Kustom web page and forum! This is fantastic!
My K200A-4 got a lot of use back in the day, but unfortunately it has sat idle for far too long. However, I am planning on reviving it. It's been so long that I forgot what the actual design and intent are for the "low" versus "high" inputs for both channels. Can you please enlighten me?
Someday I'll have to ask for help on how to fix the vibrato effect. Tremelo works fine, but vibrato only gives a rapid percussive noise that can be varied with the vibrato speed knob.

The high and low marked inputs on a Kustom plexi face amp are in reguards to tone, but they should really be marked Normal and less lows since they both have the same amount of high frequency responce!
This is unlike your standard, say Fender amp that has jacks marked 1 and 2 of which the #2 jack has half the gain of the #1 jack.
This same #1 and #2 jack standard applys to the latter( k150/K250) metal face Kustoms.
