Im looking for replacement filter caps for my charger bass amp. The ones in it are Mallory and the only thing written on them is 2500 mfd 50vdc. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated !

These caps have a little round circular dot on the top, if that dot is flat and not pimpled up, then your caps are still fine.

Newark supply(www.newark.com) has the great Cornell Dubilier brand in stock.
Part number DCM472U75AH2B is a higher voltage and MFD rating and is still only 19 bucks each, a good bargan next to the 46 dollar ones.
These caps are a bit smaller in diameter so you wil have to rap them with some tape and card board to get the clamp to sung back up on them.
The higher MFD rating will give more punch when the amp is played loud, plus give less idle hum noise.

If I replace the caps with new ones, I will up to 4 times the original Mfd rating. NEVER go lower on the voltage rating but higher is better. Size and price increase as the voltage rating goes up. I also buy new mounting clamps, (pretty cheap actually), and drill and mount the new clamps. The older Mallory were short and large diameter and the new ones are generally taller and smaller in diameter. That is why I buy new mounts. Nothing wrong with taping the new ones but I think it's a bit more professional to do it correctly.

I have some Kustom caps. A pair of the larger 4500mf x 50 volts, and a pair of the smaller 2500mf x 50vdc.
The larger one's came out of a rack mount kustom monitor amp and the smaller one's came out of a kustom mixer.
