Hi everyone!

I have a K-200-B-1 (s/n 49021). The speakers are JBLs in a 2-15" cabinet marked "CTS" on the speaker jack. I have a few questions.

1) How can I find out when/where was it made and originally sold?
2) How do I remove the pilot light for replacement? I can't get the slippery thing out!
3) How do I clean/refurbish the grill cloth, or buy exact replacement grill cloth to replace the old dirty looking one?
4) How do I post/see others pictures?

Thanks for this forum! I have been a bassist for over 40 years, and I have not found a better all-around amp for everything from small to medium rooms completely on it's own! I use a Boss ME-50B for effects/tone with my 1979 Rickenbacker 4001 and I get everything I want or need!

For the bulb you might try some plastic tubing or hose to get a grip on it....You have to push and twist to unseat it... Hope this helps...Bulbs you can get from Mouser Electronics... I use a 200B-2 head and I have 4 2-15's to chose from Altec,CTS,and Jensen 15's...All sound great...I like the Altec 418's the best.
Sounds awesome with both Altec cabs hooked up!!!!! Very Happy

Hi,
SN 49021 was made 12/29/69 plus or minus about two weeks.
It was made in Chanute, Kansas.
I don't think anyone has records showing where it was originally sold.
To clean the grill, spray it with windex - spray it from a side angle so so don't get windex on the speakers. The grill "cloth" is plastic not cloth so windex will not hurt it. Let it soak about 10 minutes then wipe it carefully with a soft cloth like an old towel. Repeat at least 10 to 20 times and it should start to help. If you use a white cloth you can see when it is starting to get clean.

If you have a really bad dirt and dust ring on the grill I have found that wetting down a really strong papers towels to the point that it is just about dripping with Fantastic and applying them very frimly on the grill, and them removing them them after about 1/2 hr will pull up a nearly all the crud on its own.
If there is still more dirt wetting it down again and making use of a old tooth brush will loosen up the rest and let you wipe it up.
Dont worry about paper towel bits that my be left on the grill cloth, as once dry it will just vacume off with the help of a dry tooth brush if needed.
What model JBLs are in your cabinet D130,D140 or the latter E or F models?

I clean a really dirty grill by removing the speakers and then remove the complete baffle board, and take it to the car wash. Power wash it and it removes all the dirt from the actually baffle board, vacuum off the excess water and let it dry for an hour or so, and put it all back together. Works great and it gives you a chance to make sure all the nuts are tight on the baffle board and speakers. I can photo's if needed.
