What was the original footswitch jack in the K200-A3 head? Was it a male or female three-pin XLR? I have one on the way but the jack has been removed from the back panel and I'm not sure if the three male pin plug that is still connected inside of the chassis is original (and just missing the outer body) or if I need something else to bring the head back to spec.

Does somebody have the schematic for the proper hookup of the switch terminals or know what pin should be which effect?

Thanks.

Hi milo,
For the K200A-2, K200A-3, and K200A-4 footswitch you need a 4-pin female XLR plug.
(The jack panel-mounted in the rear of the amp is male. Normally the jack is mounted so that the pins are at the bottom.)

The pins of the jack are:
pin-1 Trem/Vib
pin-2 Boost
pin-3 Harmonic Clipper
pin-4 Reverb

Grounding a pin makes the effect active.

The original footswitch used a 4 conductor shielded (XLR) cable. The shield was used as the ground connection to the pedal.

Thanks.
Do you happen to know a part number or specific make/model of jack that will match up to the mounting holes in the Kustom chassis? Even a link to a picture would help me hunt down a jack that will fit without making any mods.

Thanks again.

I had actually seen that Ebay auction when looking for pics and didn't realize he had more pictures of the amp embedded in the description.

It looks like it's an older style "narrow" Switchcraft so I should be able to find one of those. I don't have the amp in my possession yet, but I was going to place an order for some other amp parts and should be able to get the XLR socket from the same place. I thought that the interior chassis picture of my amp showed the insert of a three-pin male XLR, but it wasn't a good angle and it seems odd that Kustom would use a four-pin on the A2 and A4 and something different on the A3.

Is there a schematic floating around for the K200-A3?

I have several of the switch craft XLRs, silver plate with blue female pin area.
They are not narrow, but taller than your normal square panel mount XLR, well some look narrow due to the fact that the plate mount does not have a beveled edge. But the mounting holes are still in the same location.
They are about 1 3/8ths tall X 1 1/32 wide.
You can have this one, just PM me so we can figure out a way to get it to you.
