hey guys i need some help, my dad and i found an old Kustom amp we thought we'd sold but i guess not
anyways, we found one that looks like but its only identifed as k200 series and we cant find anything else? help we need to repair a few things and need schematics but dont know which one it is so we cant order the schematics,

could you help us identify it? and if you have shematics pm it to me?

Just a guess, but at a glance of 1 of your pics says its a Frankenstein head you have and I'm going to say its like a Model-595. It should have like six 36892 transistors behind a metal grill on the back where you wrap the power cord. I dont know if they used any of the same boards as the B models or not but what I would do is get the PC board #s that you need schematics for. You should be able to shine a flashlight along the edges of the circuit boards and find a part # usualy like KEI-PC-####. I'm sure someone on the sight has it.

Welcome to the place.

You do have a Frankenstein or "95" model head with no FX.

Do you still have the case? Is the perforated back panel that Steve mentioned missing or just taken off for some reason?

yeah the grill is there, but the amp got modified for home audio speaker cable for some reason, so were trying to resotre it. it doesnt have 1/4" jacks anymore, do you guys know if theres supposed to be 2 or 1 jack(s)?

They came with one speaker jack. If you look at the back panel where the power transistors are mounted, just left of center is a hole (maybe 3/4" dia.), this is where the back of the speaker jack fit. It used a standard Switchcraft 1/4" open circuit jack.

I've sent you the schematic via email.

ok so we tried it out today, hooked up a 4 ohm speaker to it, and it worked perfectly , unfourtunatley the speaker was 20 watts lol, but it was aria so we didnt really care that we fried it, now were deciding weather or not to restore the head cabinet, and we need a new bulb.

so we did all the restoration, and the amp is now putting out 20v DC out of the speaker output

I'm not sure thats a good thing, I wouldn't hook any speakers you want to keep to it. I can't help ya there, but stevem or chicagobill might have that kind of knowledge. Good luck with it. steve c

If you have 20vDC on the speaker output that's definitely not a good thing.

Your earlier post said that it worked perfectly but then after restoration it was putting out the 20vDC? What did you do?

The obvious things to check are the 4 output transistors, their related resistors and the pre-driver Q201.

well we hooked it up to a 20 watt 4 ohm speaker, and it worked fine but the speaker blew we assumed because of the wattage difference, but we hooked it up to an osciliscope and it was putting out 20v DC
