They seem to have been made from early 68 to the begining of the metal face serise of amps in 71 and they where never made for bass use as far as I have ever known.
We are lucky to have have two good historians on the board here who may be able to serve you better facts and details than I have, so come back and check latter in the day.

If you go to the literature tab, click on 100/200/400 tab and at the bottom of the catalogs click on the Kolor Katalog Supplements and you will find the 3x12 cabs. The cab was offered in CTS for bass, Jensen and Altec for guitars. The price lists show them. JBL were not offered according to the price lists. The cabinet is 22 T&R or 44" tall and that box also housed the 2x10 over 2x12 speaker combination.
To determine if your cabinet is for bass or guitar, removing the back and identify what speakers are in the cabinet will tell the real story. The speaker jack plate should be labeled as to the speakers inside, but after 40 years, a lot of speaker changes could have been made.
