Hello Kustom members, I need your opinion about a Kustom Tuck & Roll 250-2.With a cabinet 2x15" and a brutal horn on the top. A seller want`s 1.194 us $. Is it worth that much?

Peter, since your in Denmark, it's hard to put a value on the amp. Color plays a big part along with the condition of the amp, electronically and the physical condition of the the T&R.
Personally I've found that the slant metal face amps don't have the collectability of the older plexi face models. The older plexi face amps were the Bud Ross era amps, before Baldwin purchased kustom and Baldwin started cost cutting measures everywhere they could. The older series brings more money when selling.
Is your intention to use the amp on stage? What instrument will be used with the amp? The amp with the horn will make a great keyboard amp. For guitar, it might be a bit brittle. Not so great for bass guitar unless you unhook the horn.
Size is the big detractor in price. Not many musicians here in the states want to haul a cabinet that size, with a amp that kicks 125 watts. Shipping is always a concern, a small amp can be shipped without a lot cost. The large amps and cabinets, puts the amp out of market when you figure the shipping costs.
So I guess it boils down to, will you use it, location, and is the price affordable.
Here in the states, not knowing what the color or condition is, I'd say the seller will be sitting with the amp for a long, long time.

Thank you Pleat
First of all, here is a link below.
It seems to be in a good condition,
nice color, and it is a local seller, so no
problem here, but I would not use it on stage,
Peter

Peter, it is always your decision as to what you are willing to pay for any kustom amp, weighing the pro's and con's.
I did check out the photos and see it's black which is the most common color. Appears to missing the casters and maybe the caster plates.
The speaker cabinet appears to have a few tears. I couldn't tell what brand of speakers are actually in the cabinet. The cabinet was offered with 3 different speaker choices, JBL, Altec, and KEI brand.

I also noticed that it has two extra knobs on the front panel to the left of the effects controls, that are not factory original and I don't know the purpose of what the knobs do. Someone, at some time has rewired the amp to do something else, and there may be added jacks to the back panel.

I know the alteration would be a huge concern for me, and I think anyone else looking to buy it. Knowing that it has been altered, for 1200.00 US dollars in Denmark. I'd walk away.

It would be different if you were only paying 300.00 to 400.00 US dollars, and maybe you could take a chance on it. I'm sure you don't have that many Kustoms in Denmark to choose from, but here in the states, there are a lot more amps to choose from that haven't been altered, and I don't think the altered amp and cabinet without knowing what brand of speakers are in it,would bring 300.00 here in the states. The alteration may make the amp sound twice as good as one that hasn't been changed, but it does really bring down the value for a purist kustom collector. You might be buying a can of worms, from a electronical standpoint.

Welcome to the board. It is nice to know our favorite amps are appreciated all over the world! In addition to the things Pleat mentioned there are some parts for the metal faced Kustoms that are difficult to locate in the United States. (power switches and integrated circuits) If the amp should fail in your country it might be a greater problem to find replacements. Parts for the 100-200 series amps are much easier to find. Now you have information that should help you negotiate a better price! Good luck in your Kustom quest! BC Cool
