I need a schematic for this model if anyone can email me one at cassent5150@hotmail.com thanks. How important is matching on the output transistors? I'm talking about the two TO-3 package 2N301 and the two TO-36 package ECG213 transistors. I dont have a o-scope to match them but they do come in matched sets from NTE if its an absolute necessity. Thanks Steve C

The matching is not crucial, but it will help the amp to make more wattage and cleaner watatge.
all of the 6 TO3 transistors in a Frank head are 2n3055, or NTE131 ,or for more cost and more power you can use NTE181 for the four output transistors due to their higher gain factor.
These two NTE transistor numbers can be had in a MP or matched pair form.
I have a schematic, but do not have it scanded, may be Bill can blast you a email copy.
Hey stevem thanks for the info. This frank has only 5 transistors in the back panel. 3 TO-36 package (2=ECG213's and 1=HEP233 or NTE-105) with the center mounting post and the 2=2N301's. This never had six. I cant find a PC # on the board anywhere. Only ID I have is that its a C-495 two channels no effects model. Thanks Steve C

My 1967 frank head has 6 TO3 transistors on the rear panel and the Schematic indeed calls for a total of 6, 4 outputs and 2 on the PC201 board which is the regulator board.
Another thing that needs to be checked is how good the connection is on the pins of the those two TO3 transistors as they pass through the board and into the sockets.
you need to dismount this board and pop the transistors in to make sure these connection points still have good tension on those pins.

Steve's C495 is a very model with only 5 transistors on the back.
I'm guessing 1965 or older. I sent Steve a photo of the back panel of a C350 that only has 5 transistors.

Thanks for the pics. Thats the one pleat. C-350 with the 5 transistors. Is there any way you can get a good shot of the preamp board so I can see whats missing? There is spots on both channels where things have been removed either by unsoldering or simply cut and I can still see the stubs sticking up from the board. Is that paper tag the only ID on that amp as well? Does that preamp have any ID # to tell what PC-board it is? Thanks Steve C
