I got a 1-15 cab for xmas. Took the back off to remove all the loose things floating around and the speaker had "warrenty replacement 3/87" written on the magnet.KEI ?? Noticed a little transformer in bottom of cab, unhooked. Tag on back was just black. What would this cab have had?
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas filled with lots of Kustoms.

Is the cabinet a T&R or a hard cover? There are a couple of single 15 cabinets in the hard tolex covered. Kustom had a single 15" bass cabinet. They also made two different single 15 cabs for PA usage. Pro 15P and Pro 15T. The 15P used a KEI 15" speaker and two piezo tweeters and would have included a 50 ohm 5 watt resistor for the piezo horns. The Pro 15T was the same cabinet loaded with a EV 15" speaker and a T35 tweeter and that would have used a crossover network. That might be what your calling a little transformer. I guess we need more of a description of what you have.

Aluminum ports would be the early model Kustom By Ross. Any chance you could send a pic of the tranformer thing to djt@chartermi.net
I'd like to see what we're talking about.

If its only got two wires coming out of it, its a choke and maybe a crossover choke.
