Greetings!
I have a Kustom in cascade on sale at the Central New Jersey Craigslist. A potential buyer is worried that the rig is not balanced regarding the head and cab. It is a 200 series 2x15 cab with the CTS speakers in cascade. I have the 100 series head in cascade. He is worried that I am putting an 8 ohm head into a 4 ohm cab.
My understanding is that the 200 series cabs are 8 ohms. The 200 head puts 50 watts into it - same as the 8 ohm 50 watt 100 head. However, if a person wants to add a second 200 series cab - now they are stuck - need the 200 head to go to 4 ohms and 100 watts.
The 250 series cabs were 4 ohms and expanded with powered cabs. Perhaps that is where he is concerned?
The rig is ultra clean - even the orig handles and casters - no cig burns.

Well the simple answer is this, if he cab is 8 ohms, then yes if it is 4 then no not all 200 cabinets were 8 ohm, the early ones were but the later cabinets were 4 ohm I believe.

Your K100 head is designed as wanting an 8 ohm or higher cabinet. Using a 16 ohm cabinet will not hurt the amp, it will just not be as loud as an 8 ohm cabinet.
As far as your 2x15 cabinet, unless you've owned it since day one, you really need to remove the back of the cab and inspect what it has in it for actual speakers. No telling what speakers might be in it after 40+ years. The speakers should have a "Kustom logo ink stamp on the frame".
