I just got my hands on an old Kustom PA head, I think it is a K100. I am hoping to get some info on it, like history, age, value, specs, ect. I am a bit confused with the model #, it is listed only as #1. If it helps the serial # is 18943. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Hello, this is the KBI, please be advised we have been looking for your amp for quite some time. Do NOT, we repeat, do NOT turn it on. Remain in your home and someone will contact you. As this is a secured web channel we will tell you that the unit in your possession is in fact an ocillating communicator capable of produce a neutrino beacon (do not look directly into the purple jewel light) which is used for traking station coordination for the landing of intersellar craft from a remote but not quite friendly sector. Several of these units were created in the late 1960s and disguised as amplifiers...we felt the Kustom brand afforded the best cosmetic compliment and Mr. Ross was kind enough to comply so we gave him military grade components to build the rest of his musical equipment. As with all things military they were built to last and withstand most low yield atomic disturbances, we were still surprised however to find that the musical equipment line has lasted this long as well. We had hoped that the units, like all other gear, would have faded in popularity and ended up in a land fill saving us the trouble of securing the beacon units. We had not counted on the Kool Factor contingency and thus our department was formed. Standby.... ok...I have confirmation that a team will be by to visit over the next several nights..you may leave your doors locked, it really won't hinder us..we should effect repairs on the unit and leave it as a mere PA system. We will inform you when the product is safe for operation. Until then, again, I urge you for the sake of all humanity..well those on this planet anyway, do NOT turn that thing on! If you are concerned about having the unit in your possession you may send it descretely via UPS to our undercover agent...code name ET! He'll know what to do with it.

I'm sorry... I dunno what got into me...just every now and then it hits me..pls know I wasn't making fun of your question either...We did ask Bud about the whole serial number deal when we met in Nashville year before last...he chuckled and headed into another of his great stories..seems that serial numbers don't tell us a whole lot and quite often they aren't exactly even correct...early on in the "By Ross inc." years, Bud was coming up short on inventory and turn arounds...he had been known to do a bit of serial plate swapping and I'll leave it at that... as for your numbers.. somebody smarter than me will have to offer some real help.. I"m just in it for the koolness factor..and for the love of hangin with you guys (and Deb).. Play Loud! ET
