OK, I've taken it as far as I can. This K200A-2 is looking and sounding fantastic again. I dont have the time or money to get the effects going, but she's warm sounding as the A Models should be and looks great again. See the complete process with the latest pictures at my link below.

Very nice Steve! I just picked up a red K200A-2 with a 2 x 15" altec cab that was mint except someone put gray grill cloth in it. I have since changed that out.
Thats awesome, did ya notice the extra warmth those A models have over the B ones? Side by side they pretty much have the warmth of the earlier Frank model, at least the ones I have do. MY GOD, your room is looking more like mine. I see your getting quite a few. At last count I'm thinking I have 16 just of the K200 models, 4 or 5 Frankenstein heads, a couple K250's, a couple K150's and 9 combo amps plus 3 sets of PA cabinets just to name a few so I'm good for a long time. Ya know its like theres no end to collecting these things. I'm doing some thinning and keeping just the best stuff. but its so hard to part ways with each piece. Seems they all have a story with me and something sentimental about them. I'm sure ya know what I mean. Steve C

I do understand the warmth thing. This "A" version sounds just like my Fr4ankie and the sound is to die for. I am up to 23 pieces with a red, black, blue and silver K-50 and a black K-25, a K-150-6 and a -7 along with a K-400 head, K-150 head 2 x 15" Frankie from 1965, two 2 x 12 and 3 x 8 columns, 2 single 15" horn cabs, 2 2 x 15" siren cabs with Altec 418's in them 2 challengers....heres a pic of my collection minus3 reds and a blue and silver.
some of my color pieces,
I can't stop either...a deal is a deal and I can't help myself...lol!

Just as a note guys, the warm tone difference you both speak of is largely due to the major use of the white mallory electrolytic caps used in the Frank and A serise amps.
If you change out the orange drop and brown types used in the B and latter amps you will have warmer sounding amp!
A nice change I did for a guy a few months ago with a B5 head fo(PA) for his guitar, was to make him 4 different sounding channels cap wise all with pretty much the same gain level that he used with a custom made A B C D buffered switching box.
