I just completely re-capped this amp and the tremolo/vibrato pops when it is switched on. Any ideas what would be causing this?

Thanks!

Was it popping before the recap?

Probably was, as this is fairly common in both the A and B series amps. Kustom used standard transistors as signal switches to turn on and off the FX. These transistors sort of slam on and off and will cause this sort of popping noise.

Some transistors are better than others, you may be able to swap them and see if the noise is any better. I wonder if shunting them with a high value resistor would equalize any built up charge and reduce the noise?

Thanks for the reply Bill. The tremolo was not very audible before the recap, so I did not hear any popping beforehand. Thanks for the tip about the transistors!

I have a that same kind of problem ( ticking noise) in one of my K100 heads, sorry I can not help much with a resolve as in my 4 years or owning it,I have not yet had the time to pop it open and snoop around.
