I have a Kustom K200B head and 3x15" cab in turquoise that I play lead guitar through in my band, My Everyday Mask. It sounds amazing with our various drop tunings. The serial number on the (K 200B 1) head is 49647, and the serial number on the 3x15" cab is 6629. Thanks for your help.

First of all Welcome to the forum. We always like to hear from new folks. Especially those who are still using them in live performances. We have a member who has calculated a way to estimate date of production within a few weeks, so I hope he may answer later. As a 13 year collector and player of vintage Kustoms I will propose the head is in the 69-70 range. If the cabinet has chrome ports and a badge that says Kustom Electronics Inc it should be about the same vintage. The proper name for your color is "Cascade". Kustoms make excellent guitar amps and translate pedals very well without "coloring" the sound. Do you happen to know what speakers are in the 3x15? Again, welcome and tell us more! BC Cool

Here's a welcome from North Carolina. Head serial # indicates an approximate manufacture date range January - March 1970. Not sure about the cab, but if it matches the head in that color, a safe bet that they were an original matched pair. If the speakers are original, you can date them through the maker's code numbers. I know, lot of screws to take loose! If you do look at the speakers, let us know and we'll help identify. Cool

Thanks for the welcome. I love the color, thanks for identifying the correct name for me. I bought it from a retired rock band that toured with it called Public Witness. They had at least a dozen of them in various colors. I fell in love with the Cascade color right away. I was told they were sponsored by Kustom.

Hey, thanks for the dating info. That is really cool, especially since I was born in 1996. I will check out what the speakers are this week end and post the info next week. I had no idea that it was as old as that. It's still in good shape. It's solid and has a few scuffs and small cuts around the bottom, but overall it's held up really well!

1996! Man I got shoes older than you! Laughing

Welcome to the place. These amps hold up very well to time and travel, as long as they aren't abused. Treat 'em right and they'll treat you right.

Again, Welcome!
