Ok...here's where we are... Jim Reynolds is the show holder.. I have reserved a two table committment to him...having the tables is the right thing to do with regards to the other dealers so there will be no question if any of us sell or trade gear. Jim is going to treat us special though and is reserving not just the 20 ft of space but will take the entire back wall area and set it aside so we can bring in as much gear as possible... I recommend that you bring all you want..but plan initially to only pull say 3 or 4 pieces out of your finest for display...then we can fill in any other space as available. The rent was raised on Jim so his cost to us will be $225 per 10ft table or a total of $450. I have committed to him on this already but certainly need your help. I would also like to cover Bud's motel (and while motel 6 is fine for me..) I want to put him up in the Holiday Inn so there's another $218 for 2 nites...I've seen verbal committment from a good dozen of you that are serious about this.. I know there are many others coming...and I will solicit their help but for the core group I guess I'll start by asking that you would send a check for $75. If we get plenty of response then the cost per guy will go down and I'll be sure to refund the difference to you...I know many of you are more familiar with Brad Crowder as he is great at keeping in touch..if you are more comfortable then please send the funds to Brad as he has also volunteered to help with the treasurey duties...if for any reason this show blows out..or Bud has to cancel then I will refund all to all... I have also contacted Motel 6 which is $37.00 per nite double occ. their phone is (615) 333-9933. Their parking lot allows for your vehicle right outside your room. If you prefer a better stay then the Holiday inn is quoting $109 for dbl..(615) 373-2600. I am talking with sales at Holiday right now about a group discount which would include a meeting room in case we can't jam and meet after hours at the show like we want. I told them there might be a dozen in the group and they said they can do a lot better on price so I"ll let you know. Either way you'll be responsible for your own rooms.. I can help get you to and from the airport. I know a couple of you are flying and I really appreciate the cost involved... I just ask that everyone do what they can to help with these expenses. So I can be as open as possible you can check in with Jim Reynolds yourself if you'd like..his phone is (619)749-3616 and he is listed on VG under the December shows..this is the last show of the year and while its not a large one...he promises that there are usually some local big dogs that like to pop in and so its a decent weekend all around. Be sure to bring your favorite axe as well cause we plan to jam on all this tuck n roll. ya'll feel free to call me any time...my cell phone is (704) 236-5818 home is 527-3820 and work is 334-5353 ext 237. Looking forward to finally meeting many of you..ET!

ET - My check is in the mail already! I also talked to the Motel 6 manager today and got a quote of $33.98 per single room, tax included - Not too bad for my meager needs. If anyone wants to jump on that price, give me an E-mail and I can set up a few rooms for us! Thanks ET - We all owe ya one! I AM READY FOR THE BASH!! jc

Working with the sales folks at HI Brentwood...they have offered us a group price of $69 instead of the $109...and a seperate meeting room if we want it for $125 instead of $500... if you want to save the money feel free to contact the Motel 6 or any other place...but if you want this rate at the Holiday Inn then just tell them you are with the "Kustom Kollector's" group when you call...they are sending me the contract form now and she would like to block the rooms to ensure availability.. I've got about a week til i would need to lay my credit card on the line so let me know or book it direct...thanks...ET!

wanted to make sure no one misunderstood on the money issue...we do have certain costs to cover..but if anyone is unable to participate in helping with the costs..that in no way should stop them from coming to the event...we realize that a number of guys are having to bear the expense of an aiplane ride to make this work and its just great to have you join us....those who can contribute..its greatly appreciated...but most importantly just want ya'll to make it here....again..the only reason we have table/booth expense is to be fair to our fellow dealers so there won't be any question about us selling or trading gear which I'm sure will be a part of the fun and likely a way to help recover some of the cost of this event...so pack em up boys and I'll see you there!! ET!

OK, I missed the beginning of this thread, can someone please explain the details to me? I gather that there's gonna be a Kustom mini-konvention at the Nashville guitar show? Where and when is it, please? Also, anybody interested in carpooling from eastern NC? I have a K100SC combo, blue same size as a 4x10 but factory 1x15, go figure, ....and... a black L1295 organ (4 12" Jensens) in pretty good working order. Plus some other crap in black, but that's all I'd bring. Somebody let me know... Matt Farrow

Pharoah.......this is a mini convention at the guitar show in Nashville at the fairgrounds the weekend of Dec 9th, 2000. Looks like we will have 50+ amps...a couple of organs....and maybe a half dozen Kustom guitars. Bring all you can. We would love to see you there. Kustom founder Bud Ross will be there as well! If I can be of any help email me through the site....or post here and someone will provide the necessary info. See you in Nashville! BC!

hadn't talked much about this but we will be able to actually set up and jam together on this great gear at the show..have talked with both the show holder and some dealers about this and all are cool on it....so...some suggestions for songs please... I want to make sure I remember some of em or can go back and do my homework before i get there....I figure open easy stuff like some blues (no i'm not an SRV wanna be..in fact i usually refuse to be one more bad impersonation of the man)..maybe some Bad company (Can't get enough of your love)..or any of those easy ones...plenty of space for solos , winging it,..and at least an hour for each bass solo!!! I'm hoping to bring my son with me (Ethan..21 yrs old) he's a fine drummer...but if we have a drummer in our midst all the better... I'll pack my regular small club mix console, and eq so we can run my siren cabs as PA..although the purests might want to run a straight kustom head...your choice...anyway.. I'm off subject...songs please gentlmen...

I'm glad ya brought this up.....Bad Co. is cool (I need to brush up). How 'bout some Rollin' Stones, maybe a little Neil Young, a tiny smidgeon of Allman Bros, definitely some C.C.R. (woohoo), a little Lynyrd Skynyrd, a little Clapton (plugged & unplugged), a little Zeppelin (yes!), a little Pink Floyd. Yes, I know, I'm dating myself. Plus, there's a bunch of others I could dig. The singer/frontman from our band is making the trip also, and is most capable whether behind a mic, or making some very tasty rhythm on his Strat, or doing some very decent lead. He LIVES for the JAM! As do I, but I'm more structured than he is. Say Ed, do I need to bring a couple of mics & stands with me? C'mon guys.....throw some tunes out here for me to ponder/brush up on!

sounds good..nice to know there'll be a real singer there... I will have a couple mics..std SM58 grade...pack yer own guns if you have a preference..but I"ll have the basics of a Pa there...as for the tunes..I was just suggesting things like Bad Company cause their stuff is relatively easy. but I like all that you named as well..and as for telling our age... my guess is we all will qualify for mid life crisis care so I've no doubt that the song list will hit that era...although I do dig the Black Crowes...but I'll get into some Skyn in a heart beat...

You guys ain't throwin' tunes out here very fast! Hey JC, what key ya wanna do "Sloopy" in? hehe I thought I'd throw some tunes out here for you guys to admire/despise/whatever. If you would rather not play any of these, hey, thats cool. We've all got different tastes. Paint it Black Let it Bleed Gimme Shelter Satisfaction Sympathy for the Devil This Should be the Last Time, etc, any Stones is o.k. Suzy Q Green River Born On the Bayou Have You Ever Seen The Rain Midnite Special Heard It Thru the Grapevine, etc, any CCR is ok with me Night Moves Main Street Turn the Page We've Got Tonite, etc, anybody else like Seger? Your Time is Gonna Come I'm Gonna Crawl Traveling Riverside Blues Immigrant Song etc, some fairly straightforward Zeppelin All Apologies Where'd You Sleep Last Night, that's all the Cobain I know Comfortably Numb Time (minus the ticking clock intro) Mother Another Brick In the Wall etc, a little Floyd anybody? Fire On the Mtn Heard It in a Love Song...M. Tucker Long Haired Country Boy...C. Daniels Band Statesboro Blues (Ed or somebody else will have to do the slide work) Jessica (any keyboardists out there) Midnite Rider ....Allmans Four Strong Winds Rockin in the Free World...I'm sure there's more Neil Young C'mon guys, I've stuck my neck out. Somebody else's turn. Like I said, anybody don't like these, we don't have to play 'em. There's thousands of others.

JC, Thanks for the offer. I arrive at 5:15pm. My dad will be there for me unless the weather caves in where he lives. ( Canton NC ) Regardless, if he can't make it then I was planning on using the Holiday Inn courtesy van to get to the hotel. Are you staying at the HI ? If so, then maybe we can meet up later in the evening for dinner and Kustom Konversation ! That goes for all of us. I'll have my cell phone on the minute I arrive. 714/317-4217. Don't hesitate ! 3 dayz !!!!!

Hey Fuz..and JC... I would offer to pickup as well...but I'm not sure I'll be up there bu 5:00...hopefully I"ll be there before that...but its a long drive thru the hills..and likely some snow...but I will be there that evening at the HI....so yes lets all do definitely get together...do some dinner and go from there..if I get in early enough then I want to load my gear in..rather have it under guard..than in the trailer....just call me on my cell when you get in... Be advised on the Holiday Inn...the $69 rate was offered in anticipation of a group of 12...as everyone has been making their own reservations..and was to mention the kustom collectors group to get the rate...the sales gal called me at 11:00 this morning (Thursday..gotta love it) and said they had failed to track it by the group so she can't tell how many of us are reserved...if you already have your reservation then they will honor the rate they quoted to you at that time...if you just walk in then they may stick you with the full price..in that case I recommend heading down to the motel 6...hey..its a bed...hope their confusion doesn't screw anyone up... I verified with her on this call with my reservation numbers that I do have the lower rate for Bud and myself...let me know if there are any uglies.. I'll do all I can to make it right...see ya in a few hours!!! ET!
