I had a guy contact me about what speaker went in a 1-18B-1 cab, that he is restoring for his uncle. Wanted to know what kind and what ohm it was. Told him to check here with you'll. I have one but don't know whats in it. And it's in OKC right now, so can't double check it. Any info would be appecated.

Tom, It's a 4 ohm driver...not sure but I think it's a CTS. I haven't removed the driver in mine but any 4 ohm 18 incher should
should work fine... I almost put a Black Widow in it after I first got it but the idea of lugging that 1-18 beastie around quickly put that idea out of mind.

Eminence makes some really nice sounding low end drivers. I have a couple in my subs and paid 129.00 or so each for them. I got them from Parts Express, mine were 15", but here is a link to the same in 18" http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=290- 429

Here is a heck of a deal on a pair of used ones on CL http://chicago.craigslist.org/sox/msg/3833665295.html

Thanks Craig, I do understand about lugging that beast around! Mine has flat spots on the wheels from setting in one place for so long! Lol

I bought a near mint '72 charcoal gray T&R last year from the original owner. The original speaker is a CTS 4 ohm 150 watt speaker. Sounded good, but I wanted to use the cab with my '68 black T&R K200B-1 head and matching 2-15 cab. I needed to use an 8 ohm speaker in the 18 cab, so I installed a Cerwin Vega 300 watt 8 ohm like those used in the Acoustic folded horn cabs of the 70s. Sounds amazingly great, particularly considering the relative small power with the 100 watt k200B-1 rig mentioned. Very Happy

The Cerwin Vega they used in the acoustic 360's was the L-187 It was a 4 ohm speaker... There was a L-188 that was the next of kin of that speaker. I have the L-188 in my Kustom 1x18. That thing sounds so sweet!

Not sure what speaker mine has in it, but it sounds real nice. I had the back off to check it out, but someone had been in it before and had sealed it really good. Didn't want to jump into it right then, because it did sound so good. Feels like I'm getting CPR when I play it. It do thump!

Yeah when I got mine they "sealed" it. So i carefully got it open and saw the speaker was replaces with an SRO. I didn't like it so much so I replaced that with the CV L-188.. sweet sounding!
