I know this forum is for Vintage Kustom amps but I was hoping someone would be able to offer some advice on diagnosing (and if it makes sense) repairing this amp.

I bought this at an auction not knowing whether or not it worked, as I have been looking for an amp for quite some time since I am starting to play again. Anyways, when I got it home and plugged it in there is no response....no sound, no light, no humming, nothing. Which in some ways could be good and others bad.

I am wondering if anyone has any idea of what the most faulty parts are on these or what would likely cause this. I have opened up the amp to make sure it wasn't a loose/disconnected clip, etc. Upon visual inspection everything looks good and is where it should be. I did notice some blue corrosion on some of the metal connectors, but when cleaned up and retested it didn't make a difference.

If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated, since I was all excited last night when I got this home and then completely bummed when I plugged it in. Thanks for your help..

Hello and welcome!
First off you should see if the fuse is blown, and in some of these amps the fuse loads into where the AC cord couples into the amp on the plastic right below the plug, this little cover section gets pryed out with a small screw driver and the fuse comes with it, on other amps the fuse is internal.
Going to the Kustom site and checking to see if you can down load or look at a copy of the owners manual for the amp will help you pin down where the fuse is in the amp.
If you find that the fuse is blown/open than the most likly reason it is popped is due to the amp having a shorted output stage pack.
Fuse`s do not blow for just no reason, so if you find that yours is bad, or even more telling of the amps condition, MISSING, do not just install another fuse and try it, as its time for checks to be made and or repairs.
If you can de-solder to a decent level you may be able to change it out yourself, if not then its time to find a repair tech.
Good luck and let us know if you need more help, or how you make out.

The fuse is out in the open on the circuit board, I forgot to mention that I did check it and it was ok. I will be taking a few photos later and post them so maybe someone will see something that is missing/out of place. As for taking it to a repair tech, I am on a very limited budget so it is either I fix it or it goes to the dumpster. I only paid $15 so its not like I have a lot invested, I was just hoping that it would work so I could start playing with an amp again. Playing an electric without an amp is only entertaining for so long. Thanks for your reply.
