Hi,

I am new to this forum. For many years, back in the 60's-70's, my dad's shop repaired musician's equipment, I got pretty good at fixing tube amps, but, my real forte is repairing and building loudspeaker.

Every now and then a KUSTOM came in, if the amp needed fix, my dad or one of the others did it, if the speakers needed work, I did it. As we were an ALTEC Sound Contractor, some people came to us to get their ALTEC speakers repaired or the lessor ones replaced with them. I really liked the looks of the tuck and roll.

Most of the Kustom equipment we saw was guitar and bass amps, I remember having to work on a set of the PA speakers with ALTEC 811's and 418 woofers, only once, they were black and needed the cabinets fixed, had been dropped.

There appear to be several kinds of tuck and roll cabinets with the 811 and the two 15's. They appear to be part of the 300 and 600 PA systems and the 250 and 500 guitar amp systems. There also seem to be some other ones with a non-Altec horn.

The PA speakers seem to be taller than the Guitar amp models? If anyone knows more about this, please let me know.

Jim

Hi,

Your literature site is very helpful, that's where I found the model numbers. However, there is no listing of dimensions there, which i need to figure out what i need to do. Maybe someone out there has them.

I have a couple of the 3-15's with the 3 being a siren'....these are the tall cabinets that are slanted, and then a couple that are just the 3-15' that are slanted as well and then a short guitar cabinet that has the 2-15's and then the horn in the top of the cabinet. Which cabinet do you need the measurement to?

Each Tuck and Roll is 2" so if you count 10 T&R across the top of a amp, it equals 20" wide. As you look over the literature section of the different models, Frankies are 11 T&R wide All K200A and K200B series amps and cabs are 12 T&R wide.
